First tele-radiology centre in Bangalore

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Bangalore will soon be home to the country’s first ever tele-radiology centre in Whitefield. Tele-radiology Solutions, the premier provider of the service, on Tuesday, launched ‘Rad Gurukul’, a facility dedicated to training and refining the skills of radiologists, technologists and IT personnel involved in IT healthcare.

The training centre was inaugurated by Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chief Managing Director of Biocon.

The other guests of honour at the event were Pramila Nesargi, Chairperson, Karnataka Women’s Commission and J. Parthasarathy, Director, Software Technology Parks of India.

Equipped with state of the art amenities, the centre has an art auditorium with videoconferencing facility, which will enable interaction with trainers and trainees from across the globe.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said: “Globally, and in India in particular, we know that the prevalence of disease is rising alarmingly, due to changes in lifestyle and diet. Clinical trials in radiology are extremely relevant to prove the efficacy, safety and affordability of any new treatment.”
