Actor Raghuvaran dead

CHENNAI: He redefined the manner in which the bad guy in Tamil films needed to look or sound. Easily one of the most sought-after artistes of the south Indian film industry, actor V. Raghuvaran passed away after a brief illness here on Wednesday. He was 49.
The actor, ailing for a while, complained of chest pain and was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead due to cardiac arrest.Having grown up in Coimbatore, Raghuvaran pursued his graduation at the Government Arts College there. “He used to look amazing in his student days… his friends kept insisting that he try acting,” recalls his father Velayudam.He started his career with ‘Ezhavadu manidan,’ and shot to fame with his performance in ‘Poovizhi Vasalilae’.
Raghuvaran’s performance in Manirathnam’s ‘Anjali,’ won him critical acclaim.
