Pharmacists seek fair deal

Staff Reporter

BERHAMPUR: The representatives of South Orissa Pharmacists’ Association (SOPA) met State Health Minister Sanatan Bisi on Tuesday during his visit to the city demanding use of unemployed pharmacists of the State for the uplift of health services in rural areas. They handed over a memorandum to the Health Minister. They alleged that the State Government had not appointed any pharmacist since last 18 years although they are key elements of health services. They also pointed that the State Pharmacy Council has to be reconstituted and State Labour Department should monitor payment of proper scale of pay to pharmacists employed by private hospitals.
