Ranchi: A jawan of Special Task Force was killed in an encounter with the militants of the banned Jharkhand Liberation Tigers (JLT) at Karra in Khunti district, police said on Wednesday. In an operation against the JLT in the Bilsiring forests STF jawan Manoj Tiwari suffered bullet wounds and later succumbed to the wounds, hospital sources said. The police claimed that a JLT man was also killed, but his body was not found. They said JLT was active in road robberies in Khunti district.
