All set for SSC exams

44,774 regular students to appear


16 of the 221 exam centres identified as problematic

Question paper storage points set up at 68 places


ANANTAPUR: District Collector N. Sridhar on Wednesday stated that all arrangements have been completed for the smooth conduct of SSC examinations in the district scheduled to commence from March 24. He entrusted the task of conducting the exams to DEO Abdul Hameed and Zilla Parishad CEO K. Sripathi Rao.

In all, 44,774 regular and 18,005 private students are likely to appear in the SSC exams. The exams will be conducted from March 24 to April 9 from 9.30 am to 12 noon. Examinations will be conducted in 221 centres and an equal number of chief superintendents and departmental officers have been appointed for the purpose.

Besides, 53 additional departmental officers, 3,168 invigilators, 26 route officers, 26 additional route officers, 68 custodians and 68 joint custodians have also been appointed. Question paper storage points were set up at 68 places and 16 of the 221 exam centres have been identified as problematic.

In all, 12 mobile squads comprising revenue, police and education officials, have been formed to monitor the proper conduct of exams and to prevent irregularities, if any.

Sitting squads have been formed for all the 16 problematic examination centres.

A special cell has been created in the DEO’s office for contacting the officials in emergency situations.
