Six elected unopposed to RS

HYDERABAD: Five Congress nominees and the lone TDP candidate were declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from the State.

Returning Officer Tuljanand Singh declared them elected and handed over the certificates of election.

The six were Union Mines Minister T. Subbarami Reddy, sitting member Nandi Yellaiah, Mohd. Ali Khan, T. Ratna Bai, K.V.P Ramachandra Rao (Congress) and Nandamuri Harikrishna (TDP).

Out of the six members, who are retiring on April 9, R. Chandrasekhara Reddy, Aakarapu Sudarshan, Lal Jan Basha and N.P.Durga, belong to the TDP. The two others – Mr. Subbarami Reddy and Mr. Nandi Yellaiah -- were re-nominated.
