Transco bags key award again

HYDERABAD: For the third consecutive year, the performance of the power transmission system of AP Transco, comprising high-voltage lines of 220-KV and 400-KV capacities, has been adjusted best in the country for 2006-07 by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

AP Genco’s Vijayawada Thermal Power Station and the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station have bagged the “meritorious award” of the Union Energy Ministry for the third year in a row for 2006-07 for their performance in achieving high generation and high Plant Load Factor. AP Transco CMD Rachel Chatterjee and AP Genco CMD Ajay Jain will receive the awards from Union Energy Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Thursday.
