Japanese firms to recruit engineers
HYDERABAD: Thirty per cent of the 250 members of the Japanese Embedded Systems Technology Association are looking for Indian engineers, particularly in the fields of electronics and mechanical, according to Shigema Takahashi, president.
Mr. Takahashi, who is here to attend the IndiaSoft 2008, being launched on Thursday by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy told The Hindu that Indian engineers had good prospects in Japan and it could be an alternative to the US for them. He is part of a four-member delegation of the association comprising Keizo Hsegawa, vice-president Tetsuhiko Okumura and Akira Suzuki. Their visit, concluding on Friday, is part of the MoU signed with the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council. The delegation is exploring joint collaboration with Indian companies. The association is keen that more Indian companies join the organisation so that its reach could be widened. The delegation interacted with 60 students from the JNTU and Gokaraju Ranga Raju Institute of Engineering Technology at Bachupally during a seminar on “Career prospects for engineers in Japan”, conducted by City-based Ramsys Info.
