PUDUCHERRY: A local court here on Wednesday directed the Dhanvanthri Nagar police to inquire into a complaint against Education Minister M. O. H. F. Shahjahan, who is one of the members of Hassan Kuthi’s Marakkar Company (HKMC) and five other directors of the firm for allegedly cheating Chennai-based financial agency A-Gate. Unpaid loanThe direction was based on a complaint filed by representatives of A-Gate, alleging that HKMC had taken a loan of around Rs.2 crore in 1997 and not repaid the amount in time. Recently, the company handed over a property at Gorimedu to A-Gate to compensate for the loan amount. Immediately after handing over the property, the company reclaimed it, the police said.
