Lawyers detain judges

Nagercoil: Uneasy calm prevailed on the premises of district court after the agitating lawyers detained judges on Wednesday.

The lawyers were demanding action against the police personnel who assaulted one of their colleagues in connection with the Udayarvilai incident in which two engineers were hit by a car when they were supervising removal of encroachment recently.

The detained judges were released after the police personnel intervened and assured them that immediate action would be taken.
