Case ‘closed’ in High Court
Legal Correspondent
HYDERABAD: A division Bench of the High Court on Wednesday said that it was not inclined to pass orders pertaining to the ‘encounter’.
The Bench comprising Chief Justice A.R. Dave and Justice R. Subhash Reddy, made these observations while dealing with a writ petition filed by Varavara Rao, revolutionary writer on behalf of the Maoists, when they held talks with the government four years ago.
When the government pleader for Home Department informed the court that the encounter took place in Chhattisgarh, the case was closed as the court felt it did not fall under its jurisdiction.
