Money-spinner: The ornamental fish industry, a small and vibrant segment of the fisheries sector, relies mainly on wild caught fishes and the main collection areas are along the Western Ghats, the Northeast, West Bengal, parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The ornamental fish exports have increased from Rs.3.2 crore in 2001-02 to Rs.5.6 crore in 2006-07.
