Kochi: With the Indian Business Process Outsourcing industry continuing to grow at a fast pace, the job opportunities in the sector is growing rapidly too. It is estimated that the sector employs about seven lakh people. According to a recent NASSCOM-Everest India study, the Indian BPO industry can grow nearly five-fold to reach $50 billion by 2012, generating additional direct employment opportunities to two million people. Kerala, which has well-established network of academic institutions and high quality manpower, can tap the opportunity by preparing young people to join the industry through proper training and opportunities to acquire the required skills. It is with this in view that the ITES Habitat Centre in Kochi, the training Centre established by Kerala State IT Mission, will conduct spoken English course from April. The course will provide training in speaking, presentation and group discussions, reading, writing and listening, grammar and vocabulary and personality development, said a communication here on Wednesday. The classes are scheduled to begin in the second week of April. A five-hour personality development session is an essential feature of this course. The classes will be handled by experienced trainers.
