116 companies participated in Kerala Tourism’s roadshow in Paris.
Marketing Kerala: Kerala Tourism Secretary V. Venu speaking at a roadshow held in Paris THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Tourism will initiate steps to sustain and build on the growing interest among the French tourists on the destination and the unique tourism products of the State. Kerala Tourism organised a roadshow in Paris in association with India Tourism last week to present unique tourism products. An overwhelming 116 companies, which included tour operators, travel organisers, publishers and incentive houses from France attended the road show. As many as 27 trade partners from Kerala attended. V. Venu, Secretary, Tourism, who led Kerala at the roadshow, said France, the second biggest market for Kerala tourism, recorded almost 100 per cent increase in tourist arrivals during last five years. “The feedback from the trade in France had been positive. We will initiate more steps to consolidate on this escalating interest on the destination and tourism products,” Dr. Venu said. Attended by 49 tour operators and travel organisers, 22 incentive houses, media houses and a few corporates, the show was a runaway hit. The roadshow was preceded by the ITB trade fair held in Berlin. Germany is yet another strong market for Kerala, recording a 67 per cent increase in the last five years, he added.
