Call to make Urdu Part-I language

We are not against learning Tamil, says Vellore Revenue District Muslim Management Association


VANIYAMBADI: Members of Vellore Revenue District Muslim Management Association in a meeting on Wednesday resolved that Urdu be made the Part-I language in all Muslims schools.

However, they said that they were not against the Tamil Learning Act 2006.

Correspondents and office-bearers of 160 elementary schools and 40 high and higher secondary schools participated in the meeting headed by Ziauddin, president, Melvisharam Education Society. A memorandum would be submitted to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi either on Marc h 24 or March 25, they said.
