Vaccination drive at Perambalur schools

PERAMBALUR: A special vaccination drive against brain fever would be conducted in the schools of Perambalur districts from March 24 to 31, according to Collector Anil Meshram.
Special camps would be held in all the schools of the district, except in villages where the drive has already been completed. The camps would be held in all schools in 178 villages in the district between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Children in the age group of 1 to 5 would be administered the vaccine, Mr.Meshram said.
He appealed to the district residents to vaccinate their children without fail and help in the eradication of incidence of brain fever.
About 67,000 children would be covered during the drive and a large number of health workers, volunteers and government employees would be deployed for conducting the vaccination camps, the Collector said in a press release.
