Riveting: Gadar and Santosh performing at the padayatra at Tipparthy in Nalgonda district on Thursday. TIPPARTHY (NALGONDA DT.): But for the blood stirring cultural show, it would have been a nightmarish afternoon for the audience here on Thursday. Despite the intense heat people enjoyed every bit of the show, especially the words, songs and the steps of balladeer Gadar. Gadar first appeared on the stage in his casual wear. People thought that he was a mere spectator at the Telangana Aatmagourava Padayatra to be launched by the Congress leader Dubbaka Narasimha Reddy. After a while, the revolutionary singer disappeared from the dais only to return in his trademark attire. He was welcomed with a round of applause. By that time it was 3 p.m. and the sun was in full fury. People didn’t feel the heat as Gadar stole the show with a dance to the highly rhythmic drumbeats and kept the audience spellbound. He spoke for 10 minutes about the glory of Nalgonda district, the epicentre of the erstwhile Telangana peasants’ armed struggle. The very next moment he went into a mourning mode and told the gathering how he was pained by the latest encounter.
