Fatehpur: Dreaded dacoit Umar Kewat and his right hand man Raj Kewat were killed in an encounter with police in the ravines of Asothar in the district, police here said on Thursay. A special task force team of U.P. police killed the two during an encounter late on Wednesday night. Umar Kewat was carrying a reward of Rs.50,000 on his head. Two foreign-made rifles and a large quantity of cartridges were recovered from the possession of the slain dacoits, police said. The two dacoits were wanted in connection with several cases of murder, extortion and robbery.
