Steel prices: YSR’s assurance to builders

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday informed representatives of builders that he would write a letter to the Centre explaining the need to control the rising prices of steel.

Reviewing the rise in prices of construction material with leaders of Builders Association of India, Ministers and officials on Thursday, Dr. Reddy assured that the State government would make all efforts to arrest the rise in price of cement. With regard to steel, however, he said it was up to the Centre to take steps to check the price as majority of the steel companies were Central PSUs. – Special Correspondent
