Manivannan relieved of MCC Commissioner’s post

Staff Correspondent

MYSORE: Deputy Commissioner of Mysore P. Manivannan has been relieved of his additional charge as Commissioner of Mysore City Corporation (MCC).

According to official sources, Commissioner of the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) V. Shankar has been asked to hold the additional charge of MCC Commissioner.

Mr. Manivannan will, however, remain as Deputy Commissioner of Mysore.

Thrust

Mr. Manivannan, who took charge as Commissioner of the MCC in August last year, had brought in a slew of measures to tone up the administration of the corporation and gave thrust towards implementation of various projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.

The Government’s decision to relieve him from the Commissioner’s post has come as a surprise to many.
