Cause for worry

Thieves continue to strike unabatedly along the city suburbs giving sleepless nights to police and residents.

Despite police claims on intensification of patrol, the offenders committed offences and fled with gold ornaments and cash in most cases. In instances such as the one that happened at Uppal, armed dacoits managed to escape even after police opened fired at them. Another dangerous aspect is that the accused are mercilessly attacking the family members on facing resistance. Left to fend for themselves, youngsters have started forming groups to patrol their colonies.
