CHENNAI: The Rasigan Express Van, a publicity vehicle for the Reliance Mobile Vijay Awards that allows viewers to vote for awards, was flagged off here on Thursday. Information Minister Parithi Illamvazhuthi participated in the event.
Ramanarayanan, president, Tamil Film Producers Council, S.A. Chandrasekar, president, Tamil Film Directors Council, and FEFSI Vijayan, president, Film Employees Federation of South India, also participated.
The second edition of the awards would ‘recognise the excellence of professionals in the Tamil industry, for movies released in the year 2007,’ according to a press release. The van would be travelling to Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, Thanjavur and Villupuram.
It would be a platform for the public to vote for favourite artists and films.
There would be 30 award categories, of which the favourite hero, heroine, director and film would be chosen by fans in Tamil Nadu and the remaining 26 by a jury.
