Bar Council seeks 5 acres land for developing infrastructure

HYDERABAD: The Bar Council of A.P. has urged the State government to allot five acres land in a centrally located place in city, enabling it to develop infrastructure on the lines of the cultural and convention centres like India Habitat Centre and India International Centre at New Delhi.

The present premises of the council located in the High Court Complex was designed when the membership was only 2,000 whereas the strength had increased to 73,000 now.

In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Bar Council chairman A. Narasimha Reddy said the Bar Council was not in a position to undertake any continuing legal education programmes on account of limited infrastructural facilities.
