House burgled, 11 lakh worth property stolen
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: Thieves took away gold jewellery weighing 700 grams and Rs. 3 lakh from a house in Malakpet on Wednesday night.
K. Vinod Kumar and K. Manjula, both working in a software company at Bangalore, rented the house at Shalivahananagar to supervise construction of their new house in the same locality. Three days ago, they performed house-warming ceremony.
As per the priest’s advice, they slept in the new house for the past two days. On return to their rented house on Thursday morning, they found their portion on ground floor burgled.
The Malakpet ACP Suhas Chaturvedi on Thursday said the offenders sneaked inside Kumar’s portion by breaking the door latch. Using the keys left in a shelf, they opened the almirah, collected the jewellery and cash. They also took away a digital camera and a handycam left in the open from another bedroom.
