Disputed area within Tamil Nadu: BJP

Staff Reporter

Krishnagiri: The area disputed by Karnataka in Hogenakkal is within the Tamil Nadu boundary, State president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) L. Ganesan said here on Thursday. There was sufficient evidence to prove this. Talking to presspersons, Mr. Ganesan criticised Karnataka for trying to stop the ongoing development works in Hogenakkal.

He urged the State government to expedite implementation of the Hogenakkal drinking water project. He claimed some vested interests in Karnataka should have misguided the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to visit Hogenakkal.

The Tamil Nadu government should speed up ongoing development works. Mr. Ganesan asked the Centre to initiate steps for the early release of Sarabjit Singh, languishing in Pakistan for 17 years.

The BJP was ready for the Lok Sabha polls. The party had announced L.K. Advani as its Prime Ministerial candidate, he added.
