Rs. 21 lakh excise haul in Anekal

BANGALORE: The Excise Enforcement and Lottery Prevention wing of the State Police conducted raids on Adigara Kallahalli in Anekal taluk and seized 1,10,000 litres of spirit, molasses and various other excise items from an illicit liquor manufacturing unit on Thursday.

According to a press release from the Inspector General of Police of the Excise Enforcement wing S.K. Venugopal, the total value of the haul is estimated at Rs. 21 lakh. The present raid was conducted by Superintendent of Police S.A. Saudgar with the help of Deputy Superintendent of police H.M. Gangadhariah. The police have registered three cases in the raid. Fifteen persons from the unit have escaped.
