DU graduate held for running fake visa racket
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A Delhi University graduate and his accomplice have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police for allegedly running a fake visa racket and duping at least a dozen young men of lakhs of rupees with promises of jobs abroad.
According to the police, the accused -- Vishal Bakshi (35) and Parminder Singh Walia (29) -- would download details of vacancies in various companies based in Canada and Australia and contact unemployed young men, mostly belonging to Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, interested in seeking jobs abroad.
The accused would then prepare fake visas, work permits and appointment letters of the companies using details from the Internet and demand Rs.8-10 lakh from their clients.
