Jilted lover allegedly sets himself afire

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old jilted lover allegedly set himself afire outside the house of his beloved in Najafgarh here on Friday.

According to the police, Mukesh, a resident of Deenpur village, reached the girl’s house in Jal Vihar around 4 a.m. and set himself afire outside the premises. He sustained 95 per cent burns and later succumbed to the burns in a nearby hospital. His father, an ex-Serviceman, is a security guard at AIIMS.

The boy met the girl a year ago and fell in love with her, the police said.
