Value addition to syllabus

Bangalore: The “Value Education” classes in most schools are an inescapable but dreary part of the curriculum.

In an effort to liven up the classes, Bangalore-based resource centre Sutradhar has come up with a value education kit of 100 books for schoolchildren called “Karuna kit”.

The books in this kit have been chosen for children aged between six and 10.

13 themes

The stories span 13 themes such as courage, cooperation, compassion, empathy, peace, gender sensitivity, dignity of labour and so on.
