Corrections and clarifications

* * The report “Appeal to trace Kerala PoW” (March 21, 2008) has a few errors: The missing K.P. Muralidharan was a Flying Officer, not Flag Officer or Flight Officer, as mentioned. The aircraft he flew was Hunter F56A, not “A 482 Hunter”. It was the No. 20 Squadron of the Air Force, not “20 Squadron A 7”.

The correspondent says the report was based on a letter by the missing officer’s sister, who relied on a Pakistan newspaper report.

A reader points out that there can be an Indian PoW or Malayali PoW, but not a “Kerala PoW.”
