Tirunelveli: Defending champion, Indian Overseas Bank, and Indian Bank, both from Chennai, entered the final of the seventh annual TNEB Trophy State-level hockey tournament at Anna Stadium, Palayamkottai, on Friday. The defending champion whipped Kovilpatti XI 8-1 in a purely one-sided affair while Indian Bank defeated SAI Hostel, Chennai, with two-second half goals off penalty corners in a well-contested match, after surviving some anxious moments in the first session. The results (Semifinals): IOB, Chennai 8 (M. Senthil 3, Gopinath 2, Saravana Kumar, N. Senthilkumar, R. Vimalnathan) bt Kovilpatti XI 1 (Siva Selvam); Indian Bank 2 (Dinesh Naik, Alfred) bt SAI Hostel, Chennai 0.
