Bhiwani: A 35-year-old sarpanch was shot dead by four armed youths over an election dispute at Kakdoli Sardara village in the district, police said on Friday. Anil, the village head, was attending a sports event on Thursday evening when four local residents, all brothers, came to the spot and pumped six bullets into him, they said. The assailants fled the scene after the incident, police said adding, the man died on the spot. An election dispute was suspected to be motive behind the murder.
