VS visits site for IT park

INSPECTING THE SITE: Chief Minister V.S.Achuthanandan at the site of the proposed IT park at Chevayur in the city on Friday.

KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, on Saturday, visited a site at Ponmalakkunnu in the city that is being considered for setting up an information technology (IT) park.

Mr. Achuthanandan reached the site at 9.40 a.m. and spent nearly five minutes studying the area. Mr. Achuthanandan also examined the sketch of the site.

A. Pradeep Kumar, MLA, accompanied Mr. Achuthanandan.

Mr. Achuthanandan later told mediapersons that a final decision on the site for the park had not been taken. It was being established as part of the government’s policy to set up such parks in all district headquarters.

District Collector A. Jayathilak, Kozhikode Corporation Mayor M. Bhaskaran and district panchayat president K.P. Kunhammedkutty were present.

At present, 68 acres of land is being considered for setting up the park.
