TDP threatens to raid civic body office

Madanapalle: Telugu Desam councillors on Thursday threatened to raid the municipal office if the drinking water problem was not solved.

The councillors --J. Venkatrayappa Chetty, J. Sreenivasulu, P. Chandrasekhar, Sreenivasulu , Arjun, Padmavathi, Siddamma, Thullasamma and Sujatha -- alleged that water was being supplied one a fortnight through pipelines.

In the 12th ward, new bore wells had not been sunk and three old borewells had gone dry. They said that they would raise in the ensuing council meetings the issue of forming committees and selection of members.
