The process: It’s the best process for making supreme quality steel bars. Steel billets are heated and rolled through a sequence, the parcel leaving the stage for a special three-stage heat treatment.

The phases of production process:

Steel billets: Direct reduced iron (DRI) undergoes a melting process in a furnace for refinement to make high-quality steel billets.

Reinforcing bars: The billets with chemical composition are further heated in a mini processor-based PLC controlled furnace and rolled through series to reduce billets to final size and shape of reinforced bars.

TMT Bars: The bars that come out of mill stand with 1250 degrees temperature are cooled in an automised-quenching box with TMT technology. This uniform surface hardening treatment gives the steel extra strength and adhesive layering.

Tempered Marten site: Rebars from quenching box with core temperature being higher than surface roll through Tempered marten site process to make rebars strong and tough.

Unique conversion: In the final phase and on the cooling bed, the product is reduced to ambient temperature. The austenitic core is charged with a ductile ferrite pearlite core, thus making the outer layer strong and tough.

As per Indian standard the strength grades Fe 415, Fe 500 and Fe 550 are covered by the requirements of Vijay TMT bars, for using these as reinforcement concrete.

Elongation: When a tensile test bar is subjected to under constant stress, increase in length is arrived at, resulting in elongation.

Tensile strength: Ultimate tensile stress is, when maximum load reached in a tensile test divided by productive and effective cross – sectional area of the gauge length portion of the test bar. This process involved is known as tensile strength.

Specified lengths: Vijay TMT bar can be cut within certain deviations of + 75mm on the length specified is the 25 cases minimum length, the deviations should not exceed +50mm and –0mm.

Nominal Mass: The density of Vijay TMT at 0.00785 kg/mm2 of the cross-sectional area/m run should be applied, while checking the nominal mass. Vijay TMT is the next generation high-yielding strength and ductile steel bar. It gives consistent quality on par with global standards. The grade 500 gives 18 to 25 percent elongation. The users get 10 to 15 percent savings in steel used in RCC structures. They can also find very negligible loss of strength at a temperature of 500C.
