Vijayashanti takes umbrage at TDP, TRS criticism

Staff Reporter

CHERIYAL (WARANGAL DT.): Talli Telangana Party (TTP) leader Vijayashanti advised the TDP and TRS leaders to refrain from making uncharitable remarks against her and her party.

She wanted the TRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao to prevail upon his party men and ensure that they maintain decorum.

Vijayashanthi began her three-day programme in the district after offering prayers at the Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Komuravelli in this mandal on Friday.

She wanted the parties and organisations fighting for separate Telangana to stop criticising each other and work seriously to realise their goal.

Refuses comment

The TDP leader told the newsmen that she would fight until Telangana was formed and the women and Dalits secured their due political representation. She refused to comment on actor Chiranjeevi floating a party.

“Both the Congress and TRS are allies. They still share power in local bodies. I differed with the BJP and came out. Ever since, I have been fighting for the Telangana cause without aspiring for power or position,” she clarified.

Asked whether her party would contest the ensuing by-elections, Vijayashanthi said the party was yet to discuss on the issue.

She said her party would contest all the seats in the next general elections.

The TTP leader reached the Komuravelli temple in large convoy.

Road show

Hundreds of vehicles accompanying her blocked the road from highway to the temple. Enroute, Vijayashanti came out of her vehicle and waved at the cheering crowds. She addressed a public meeting at Cheriyal mandal headquarters where the turnout was impressive.

Vijayashanti urged the people to realise the true colour of Congress and TDP and vote cautiously to secure their rightful share of development in all sectors.

The TTP leader would be touring several village covering over 200 km as part of her road shows spread in several mandals of Jangaon, Station Ghanpur, Cheriyal, Zaffargarh and others.
