Woman found murdered near bypass

CHENNAI: A woman was found murdered near the Maduravoyal-Tambaram Bypass on Friday.

According to police, the woman identified as Poongavanam (30) was living in the Tambaram area.

The woman, with cut injuries in her neck, is suspected to have been killed by someone known to her. Police said the woman was separated from her husband and living alone. They suspect that an internal dispute could have led to the murder.

Neither jewellery nor cash was stolen from the woman who is believed to have been murdered around 1 a.m., police added.
