Heroin seized, three arrested

CHENNAI: Three persons were arrested on Friday in connection with the seizure of 590 grams of heroin.

Of them, one was a Sri Lankan and another, an Indian of Sri Lankan origin. The car used for transportation of the narcotic drug was also seized, according to a press release issued by the South Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau. The seized drug, valued about Rs.60 lakh in the “illicit international market,” is believed to have been procured from Madhya Pradesh for being smuggled into Sri Lanka.
