Rahul meets Manmohan

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday had one more meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the effective implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme.

Mr. Gandhi led a delegation of young Congress MPs during his hour-long meeting with the Prime Minister and wanted the government to address certain concerns.

Third meeting

This was Mr. Gandhi’s third meeting with Dr. Singh on the issue, the first being soon after taking over as AICC general secretary in September last.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasada, Deependra Hooda, Debarath Singh, Tushar Choudhary, Sandeep Dikshit and Pallam Raju were among the MPs who were part of the delegation. Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Prithviraj Chavan were also present. — PTI
