Flight cancelled amid high drama

NEW DELHI: There was some drama at Delhi airport on Friday after a JetLite flight to Gorakhpur and Varanasi was cancelled because of a technical snag resulting in upset passengers demanding compensation.

The flight on the Bangalore-Delhi-Gorakhpur-Varanasi sector arrived in Delhi at 10-20 in the morning, after which the passengers were told that their departure – scheduled for 1-25 p.m. – was delayed by over an hour. But they were later informed that the flight had been cancelled due to a technical fault. “There was a technical snag in the aircraft. We do not want to make the flight unsafe for our passengers and risk their lives,” said Gary Kingshott, Chief Executive Officer of JetLite.
