Kochi: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs M. Vijayakumar said here on Friday that final touches to the draft State Youth Policy would be given at the Youth Forum-2008, to be held here from May 2 to 8. Addressing a press conference here, the Minister and Kerala State Youth Welfare Board vice-chairman P. Sreeramakrishnan said as many as 1,500 youth delegates from panchayats, municipalities and corporation areas would participate in the meeting. Union Minister for Youth Affairs Mani Shankar Aiyer would inaugurate the event. Youths from various parts of the country would participate in the national integration camp being organised as part of the meet. Folk Lore 2008, a performance of folk arts, would be held. Psychologists would speak at a session on empowerment of the adolescents. A job fair would also be organised. The State Youth Award -2007 for outstanding contribution to youth welfare and the award for the best youth organisation would be presented to N.P. Mohammed Rafi of Palakkad and Kudayathur Development Society respectively at a function in Kanhangad in Kasaragod district on April 5.
