Adieu to Air Marshal

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Members of the Trivandrum Golf Club bade farewell to Air Marshal Y.R. Rane, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Air Command here on Saturday.

An avid golfer, Air Marshal Rane would be retiring this month-end after a distinguished career in the Indian Air Force. The ‘Golfing Out’ event was played over nine holes on Saturday in pleasant weather conditions. Over 40 members of the club participated in the event held on the rain-washed fairways of the course. Air Marshal Rane complimented the Captain of the Golf Course for the improved maintenance of fairways and greens. In a brief function after the play, the members of the Golf Club recalled fond memories of association with Air Marshal Rane and wished him a peaceful post-retirement life. Air Vice-Marshal Rajinder Singh and Air Commodore Ajit Bhonsle were also present.
