Braille literates to get together

MALAPPURAM: Learners of the ongoing Braille literacy project of the district panchayat will gather here on Monday to celebrate their achievement.

Writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair will inaugurate the programme which will be held at M.S.P. Community Hall at 10 a.m.

About 300 visually challenged persons who are undergoing Braille studies under the project will attend the function.

They are being given training in Braille by the District Literacy Mission.

M. Ummer, MLA, will inaugurate an exhibition of products made by Braille learners on the occasion.

District Collector M.C. Mohandas will give away certificates to those who underwent job training.

State Literacy Mission director N. Jayadevan will give away fourth standard equivalency certificates to the participants.

District panchayat president Arimbra Mohammed will preside over the function.
