PMC to stage protest

PUDUCHERRY: Vice-president of the Puducherry Munnetra Congress K.Lakshminarayanan on Saturday flayed the government for not announcing any relief package for the people, particularly hut dwellers and farmers, hit by incessant rain.

He told reporters that the party’s youth wing would organise a protest rally on Monday to highlight the plight of the workers of the spinning and textile mills.

It would also urge the government to take steps to maintain law and order, control price rise and provide employment to the jobless youth, he said.
