Sirsi: Thousands of Muslims took out a protest march and staged “rasta roko” on Saturday to condemn the burning of the banners put up on the occasion of Id Milad on Friday at Mundagod. On learning about the incident, people of the community held a meeting near a mosque in Mundagod. Later they staged “rasta roko” on Sirsi-Hubli road for over an hour. The former Minister R.V. Deshapande, who held a meeting with Muslim leaders, condemned the incident and urged the police to arrest the accused.
