Woman killed in quarry accident

MALAPPURAM: A woman was killed and two of her co-workers were injured when a huge chunk of rock fell on them while working at a quarry at Cherukavu near Pulikkal in the district on Saturday. Karthyayani, 45, wife of Poilikkara Achuthan, was crushed under the rock. Krishnan, 45, and Sharafuddeen, 30, have been admitted to hospital with injuries. – Staff Reporter
