Governor misusing powers: Vatal

Bangalore: Kannada Chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj has accused Governor Rameshwar Thakur of misusing his powers by sanctioning projects worth Rs. 49,000 crore “in haste”.

Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Nagaraj described it as “inimical to democratic procedure” and demanded that the projects be withdrawn. “The projects should have been kept on hold until an elected government takes over in May,” he said. Mr. Nagaraj said he would be submitting a petition to the Election Commission demanding that the sanctions given be withdrawn. — Special Correspondent
