PATIALA: A four-show inter-State “Beti Bachao” theatre festival featuring an anti-foeticide Punjabi musical play, “Daairey”, has had a successful run in Himachal Pradesh. Written by Satish Kumar Verma and directed by Pran Sabharwal and Sunita Sabharwal of the National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS), Patiala, the play had its fourth and final show of the series in Solan. On the return of the 25-member theatre troupe here, NTAS director-general Pran Sabharwal said the four shows -- at Barotiwala in the Baddi industrial belt, Nalagarh, Government Senior Secondary School, Solan, and Shiv Dayal Trust, Solan – evoked an overwhelming response from audiences.
