Pilgrim drowns in Puri

Puri: A 65-year-old pilgrim from Madhya Pradesh was drowned while taking a bath in the sea here on Saturday, the police said.

The pilgrim was identified as Bhagabat Prasad Pandey of Gurdh in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, they said adding Pandey was on a pilgrimage along with his wife and other villagers in a tourist bus. Pandey was taking a dip near Swargdwar when he was swept away by strong sea current. The body had been recovered and post-mortem conducted.
