Rain to continue on Sunday

HYDERABAD: A trough of low pressure that extended from Coastal Andhra down to Tamil Nadu hovered across Telangana and Rayalaseema on Saturday, causing widespread moderate rain in the State.

The rain is likely to continue all over the State on Sunday as forecast by State Meteorological Centre at Hyderabad.

Vijayawada recorded a high non-seasonal rainfall of 4 cm. The other noted amount of rainfall were as follows: Hyderabad airport, Nandigama, Nandyal - 3 cm each, Adilabad, Baptala - 2 cm each and Hakimpet, Machilipatnam, Narsapur and Renta Chintala - 1 cm each.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy directed his department officials to assess the damage.
